Craig Doyle

For this edition Datacloud spoke to Craig Doyle, CommScope

1. Datacloud: What do you see as the future drivers for the industry?

We are seeing three drivers in the data centre: the ongoing need for higher speed interfaces as bandwidth requirements grow; the move to edge data centres to ensure latency requirements can be met, and (3) the move to hybrid data centres as enterprises evaluate the best mix between private cloud, public cloud and multi-tenant data center.

2. Datacloud: What regions within the Nordics do you see as primed for IT asset expansion?

While Denmark and Sweden is often mentioned when talking about large cloud providers. There are expansions ongoing in all the Nordic countries, within hyper scale, operators, colocation and private cloud.

3. Datacloud: What is one of your key goals for the next year and how do you expect to achieve it?

Our goal is to continue to develop new and innovative infrastructure solutions for our data centre customers, providing them with the platform they need to meet their business objectives.

4. Datacloud: How can the sector help to improve society?

The data centre industry continues to spur incredibly innovative business models. Collectively the industry has reduced data storage, compute and access costs and has provided a platform that is accessible to developers, entrepreneurs and other individuals and organisations – enabling them to develop some truly innovative applications and services. From smart homes, smart buildings and smart cities, which drive efficiency and make better use of resources, all use data centres to process, store and deliver critical data.
